Road Rage

The adoption of the US dollar by our government has made it possible for citizens to buy second hand cars from dealers in Asian countries at an unprecedented rate. This lead to a myriad of problems ,one of which is the road rage from disgruntled road users.
Road Rage
The proliferation of cars on our roads, coupled with the helter-skelter driving of public transport vehicles.the sixteen seater vehicles, our roads have become both congested scary to drive on.The kombi-drivers simply do not care for other road users as they Scrabble for the scarce fare paying passengers. They will stop anywhere especially in the middle of the road ,in order to pick up passengers .The inconvenience to the drivers of private vehicles is huge. One has to be careful in order to ensure that they safely negotiate the roads. The kombi-drivers are a power unto themselves, they will cut in front of other vehicles, swerve, overtake in front of oncoming traffic.

The blood pressure of most private vehicles shoots through the roof as the 'emergency taxis',this is the name the sixteen seater kombis are referred to here, rush here and there in search of the elusive dollar,so they can meet their daily targets. Many a time the private vehicle drivers resort to road rage ,so that they vent they frustration.

The fact that most roads in the urban centres have potholes does not help either. Most scenes of drivers avoiding potholes and other vehicles is like a horror dodgem car exhibition.

Simple courtesy and sticking to prescribed lanes, could go a long way towards curbing wayward behaviour of these taxi drivers.
